Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance

Baldwin County, Alabama, is home to the South Alabama Mega Site. The Baldwin County Economic Development Alliance has been challenged by companies considering a location on the site to provide evidence of an available and skilled workforce near the site. Boyette conducted a workforce analysis focused on the Mega Site and the types of jobs likely to be created there. In addition, engaging existing employers was a critical component, because many of them are concerned about the impact a major new employer at the Mega Site would have on their workforce.

In addition to data analysis and stakeholder engagement related to the Baldwin County workforce, this project included benchmarking of the Baldwin County workforce against seven other mega sites throughout the southeast to understand how the workforce compares across these geographies.
